First steering committee of the Med H2 project

On the 30the of October 2025, the first steering committee of the Med H2 project was held online, bringing together all nine partners from France, Italy, Greece Croatia and Cyprus. Organized and chaired by the Corsican Hydraulic Equipment Office, this first meeting officially launched the implementation phase of Med H2.

The session aimed to present the project’s overall objectives, clarify the roles and responsabilities of each partner, and define the roadmap for the upcoming months. Partners shared their perspectives on the project. Held via video meeting, the first steering committee also strenghtened the collaborative spirit of the consortium and confirmed the partner’s shared commitment to building a common Mediterranean strategy for preserving and promoting the cultural and environmental value of water.

Focus on the agenda

During the meeting, the CHEO team presented the general framework of the project and its three main Work Packages.

  • Presentation of each partners
  • Work Package 1: Building a strategic framework for the protection and regeneration of Mediterranean islands’ hydraulic heritage,
  • Work Package 2: Implementing pilot projects and participatory actions to restore and showcase water heritage sites in partner territories,
  • Work Package 3: Engaging local communities and stakeholders though education, awarness campaigns, and a transnational exhibition.

Partners also discussed the working methods, including monthly and quarterly online coordination meetings, the use of digital collaborative plateforms, and the timeline for the first face-to-face Steering Committee in Corsica, scheduled forFebruary 2026.
